My Wife

Can anyone tell me what Snake this is?

This evening, we found this snake in our yard. My wife really wants to know what it is. Websites showing common Alabama snakes don’t have anything like it. Could this be someone’s pet on the loose?

Wall-E Souvineer Watch and One Thumb and Half Up

On Friendfeed, it seems that every post about Wall-E is getting dozens of good reviews, so I figured I’d check it out. I am normally not a theatre kind of guy, I prefer to watch in my Living Room, but I do get out 2-3 times a year to check one out on the big screen.

I loaded my Wife and Son up and headed down to the 2:50 show. It was very good, but I was a tad disappointed that it wasn’t better after all the positive comments. Don’t get me wrong, it has a cute story line with some pretty cool lessons to be learned as well, but it wasn’t all that I expected.

The good news for my Son is that I scored him a souvineer Wall-E Watch!

I do have a thought though… Are we going to be those humans in 700 years?

HOLY HAIL… What a night!

OK, so I brave a tad bit of bad weather down here in the south to go up to my parents house an hour north. We left early to get up there for the 6:30pm tip off of the Alabama/Mississippi State game.

We hit some nasty stop and go traffic on the interstate and our hour drive turned into two hours. We made it just in time for tip off.

Great game, Alabama almost won. (we weren’t expected to win, in fact we were a nice underdog really). During the game, a tornado ripped through Downtown Atlanta where this game was being played in Georgia Dome. The game was delayed 1 hour and 4 minutes. When they resumed it was 2 minutes into overtime. Down by 2 with 2 seconds on the clock, Bama shot up a 3 pointer to win and it rimmed out. Bummer. If you sit back and think though… What if Alabama had not sent the game into overtime. Where would the fans in the Georgia Dome be 5 minutes later when the tornado hit the Downtown area? Scary really.

So, we go to bed… 4am, my wife wakes me up and it sounded like we were in a warzone. (can’t believe I would have slept through it). A big HAIL STORM came through the part of Birmingham my parents live in. Check out these pictures… WOW!

How to save money

You can’t walk into a store with this many 1s can you?

Edit: This was posted from my phone and I wanted to give the reason I have 600 1 dollar bills on my front seat. The reason is simple. A joke. I got a bonus check today and I am giving my wife $600 to blow on what ever she wants, but as a joke, I am giving it to her like this.

I think I have lost 20 pounds this week…

Nope, I haven’t been doing a great job in my dieting, but if you care, I have lost 10-15 pounds since that post I made where I said I need to lose….

What is this 20 pounds I am talking about? I feel like I have lost 20 pounds this week in what ever the polite word for the stuff you blow out of your nose when you have a cold/flu… hehe… I don’t know the polite word for snot, but I have filled many tissues and I am freaking sick of it. Nagging me… it goes away a few days and then it’s back. Maybe my wife is right, I should visit the doctor and get sicker from the waiting room. :)

Happy Birthday Bonnie

cake I want to wish my wife a Happy Birthday. She is 29 again. After work, we’ll take the kids and head out to Toyko Japanese Steak House, then home for me to spend 3-4 hours getting all her games and other stuff set up on her new Toshiba Laptop. ( Susan, send me a text, I found a great deal you should be about to get in on too )

iPod Nano for our 16 year anniversary last week and a new laptop for her birthday this week. My wife will be Mrs. Tech soon enough.

PS. She doesn’t want jewelry. (or at least that’s what she says) She has more than she could ever wear already.

Empty Nest – Well, Sorta

For my wife, we now have an empty nest for most of the day. Today is the 1st day of school for both Brittney and Brett. Brett starts Kindergarten and Brittney started High School. I will post pictures of him getting on the bus this morning later.

My wife is going to have one hell of a time keeping busy now. She spent the last 5 years at home with Brett, helping him develop, etc…

I can’t believe he is already in school. Time flys… FAST.

For My Wife – Ode to Zelda

My wife hates how Zelda has evolved into a more advanced game enviorment, so this image is for her…

The Remote Control Era

Yup, I am talking about remotes and I am guilty too. This story isn’t bashing our era for being too lazy to get up to switch the channels… no, why would anyone want to. Seriously. This story is a funny, but true story that happened last night and finished up this morning.

My daughter and son were watching TV around 7PM in the living room. The were picking at each other and one of them hit a button on the remote that ended up turning everything off. I was dozing off and was in and out of consciousness, but I saw my daughter attempt to turn it back on. I have one of those fancy remotes, the Logitech 880 or something like that. This remote controls several devices in one click. For instance, you want to watch a DVD, click “Watch DVD” and the remote goes to work. It turns off the satellite receiver, changes the amplifier input channel, and turns on the DVD player. Well, she hit “Watch TV” and everything but the picture came up. She fiddled for 3-4 minutes with the remote before giving up and just leaving the room, never to return. End of that episode. When I got up from a short nap, I went to work in my office and never turned the TV on. I work and play until bedtime and retire…

About 9am this morning, I got a call from my wife. “I can’t get the TV to work.” I asked here if the TV was actually on. She didn’t know. It was possible that the HDMI switcher in my Yamaha amplifier was set to the wrong output, but I had a feeling the TV wasn’t on, so I asked her to press the power button. “I don’t see any buttons”. I told her that they were on top of the TV. She said she didn’t even know the TV had buttons. We have only had this Sony Bravadia for 6 months or so, but damn… You didn’t see buttons last time you dusted? Anyhow, she found the power button and it fixed the problem.

Happy Easter

What a great day. Friends, Family, and Great Food.

I am so lucky to have such a great family. Having my kids, I hate to pack em’ all up and drive somewhere so it’s a blessing when everyone comes to my house. We had a house full and had a great time. I drank 1/2 of a Mike’s Hard Lemonade too. (I quit drinking in 1998, so this is funny)

Thanks to my lovely wife, my bad kids, my Mom and Dad, the in-laws, and the others that made yesterday a great time. I will post some of the 250 photos I snapped soon.
