Attention Phone Manufacturers: Make me this phone please?
May 7th
I need a special phone. This phone will need to have 2 sim slots. Yes, I know, there is something like that out there. Mine will be a little different. Like I said, it needs to have 2 sim slots. One for my personal sim with data plan and all and the other one for a "work" sim so I can get company mail, pages, and calls. Why? I DON’T WANT TO CARRY TWO PHONES ANYMORE! There are things I want to be able to do with my personal number that I don’t want to do on the work number and vice versa.
This phone would need to be a Window Mobile Phone. It would need to have custom software to allow for each sim to be able to ring in and have a different ring tone depending on which line is ringing. It needs to have a special version of Outlook that allows the exchange mail accounts to be different and definitely not merged together.
Now, let me get picky. I want this on a slide out QWERTY style device. Just throw this all into the HTC Touch Pro chassis and I will be happy. I can settle for my 2nd favorite form factor too, something like the Propel Pro or the BlackJack. I do very much prefer the touch screens, so ya.
Come on Samsung or HTC. Can ya hook a geek up? I don’t wanna carry two phones anymore.
I am using the Zune 80 with 3.0 Now
Sep 25th
After getting a chance to play with 3.0 aka the Fall Release at a Microsoft pow wow a couple weeks ago, I finally got around to updating my own Zune. 3.0 has been out for almost 2 weeks and I have just been lazy.
So far I like what I see. I just don’t feel like blogging on GotZune about it.
Missing CTIA for the 3rd Strait Time…
Sep 3rd
I wanted to go, but I have to be in Seattle Monday and Tuesday so things aren’t going to work out. I guess I’ll have to hit CES this year to make up for it.
Oh well…

I am looking to get a new Desktop. Any opinions?
Aug 19th
Ok, not really Mobility related, but it’s time for me to replace my aging Dell XPS with something cutting edge, again. I know with Alienware and XPS, you are really paying for a name, then quality gear. I know I could hit newegg and put one together for cheaper than going through a company, but I don’t have to time to really spend on that. I have decided to buy a ready made, top of the line video superstar box. I have narrowed the choices of companies down to CyberPowerPC and iBuyPower.com. They might be the same company for all I know, but I like what i’ve seen for the price at these two. I was looking into the VooDoo from HP, but the sales rep said they won’t be shipping until October.
What do I need?
Well, I like to go top end and ride that machine out a year or two, so keep that in mind. My price limit is $3200. I plan to do lots of video processing, some video game play, and lots of photoshop and such. I want more machine than I need really. Here is what I am thinking so far…
Do I need a new Phone?
Jun 20th
Of course not, most of us don’t. What makes us have this urge to update every time something new comes out? I haven’t a clue, but I suffer from this as well. The funny thing is that often times I come back to the same devices.
A couple years ago, I used the i-mate Kjam as my primary phone. I’d buy another or test one for a review and 2-3 weeks later, right back to the Kjam. Last year, it was the Palm Treo 750. For the last 6-7 months it’s the Tilt. I’ve been coming right back to the Tilt. I’ve got the iPhone, the Nokia n95, the HTC Advantage and Touch, the Blackberry Pearl, the Centro, and a couple other phones just laying around unused. Some people prefer some of those phones to the Tilt, but I keep going back to the Tilt. It’s not what you might think either. I don’t keep going back because I own it and the others I don’t, I own most of the others too.
Every time I see a new phone pop up like the HTC Diamond, the Touch Pro, or the Xperia X1, I get really excited for their release, but why? The Tilt is fine. Is it the Geek in me? Sure. I have little interest in owning the Diamond, but the Touch Pro and the Xperia X1 are a couple phones that look like they could upend the Tilt as my daily driver. We’ll see.
Do you find yourself buying new gadgets just because and end up going back what you were using before?
AT&T Palm Centro 1st Look Photo Gallery
Feb 19th
At&t announced today a $99 Palm Centro in the GSM variety (Press Release). Unfortunately, it only comes with EDGE and not 3G. You can read the press release here for more info. Right now, I just want to show you some of the photos and share a couple 1st Impressions.
With our server move, I haven’t had a ton of time to play with this great looking $99 GSM Centro, but I used it 2 days. My 1st impression was WOW, that’s small! I got to play with Sprint’s version too, so it wasn’t a big shock how tiny, but it feels much smaller than you’d expect. Palm has done a great job with this device. It’s small, cute, but it also has limitations. Those limitations are quickly negated by the small price tag though.
As a phone, it was a pleasure to use. The keyboard works, but for big finger folks like me, it wasn’t exactly easy to use. Anyhow, dollar for dollar, the Palm Centro packs one hell of a punch and it’s a great entry level smartphone for anyone needing more than a feature phone can provide. Stay tuned for a full review soon. For now, let me share some photos! Check them out after the break…
